OUR NEW CPS FEATURE!!!

Well, here it is the new feature from CPS. Each month on the 2nd and 4th Thursday we will be having a color feature. Just as with the sketches the designers are given something to use as a starting point for their design. You will then see a wide variety of card designs and styles inspired by that particular object. So here it is.....the very first CPS Color Feature!

In Photoshop, create a blank white canvas, sized approx. 4 1/4" by 5 1/2".
Drop star frame atop canvas.
Add stripes of color to the right.
Draw black bordering strips.
Using paint tool, paint inside stars and dots, using
stripe colors.
Drop sentiment on top.
Print card, positioning it on computer print screen so it will print with enough room to
be properly folded.
Trim and fold card.
Punch hole, insert brad.

Celebrating our First Month!

Wow! Can you believe it has been a month already? Today marks the very first month since CPS went "live". I hope everyone has enjoyed it as much as I have.
I personally love seeing what all of the designers and readers have been doing with the sketches. It just amazes me the variety of designs that can be made from a few little boxes :)


First, I want to send out a huge thanks to all of the CPS designers for their help and wonderful designs. It just wouldn't be the same here without them. If you haven't yet, I would encourage you check out their personal links on the right and find out more about each of them. Also, you may have noticed that there are several links for various sites and manufactures. Those links come directly from the CPS designers. They were each asked to share some of the places where their other work can be found. So, if you see something here you like and want to see more then check out those links as well...never know what you might find!


Next, all of us here at CPS would like to think Prism Papers for their very generous cardstock donation. You will be seeing a lot of Prism in the supply lists throughout the months. At the risk of sounding like an infomercial, I have to say I am actually a designer for Prism and just love all of their products; so, I was super excited that everyone here got to try it out. If you haven't used Prism yet, I highly recommend it. If you have trouble finding it in your area you can try online at The Cardstock Shop.


If you don't make it here on a regular basis you might want to mark your calendars for next week. Not only will we have a new sketch on Sunday but on Thursday March 22 we have another big feature and designs planned that you won't want to miss!!

Designer note: I constructed the card in PSE first. Then after printing, I folded the card, and re-printed the love oval. I cut the oval, leaving a thin white border, then adhered it to the card, (using foam squares). I inserted the Prima flower using the brad.
